Bridges of Solidarity
 Immersion Experience

What's it about?

The African Diaspora Solidarity Experience fosters unity and economic sustainability by bringing together individuals and organizations from the African Diaspora, people of color, and allies from non-African backgrounds. This experience emphasizes collective learning, cooperative economics, and community-driven initiatives aimed at addressing the global challenges of inequality and economic empowerment. By engaging in shared education and cooperative efforts, participants will contribute to a vision of solidarity and sustainable growth for marginalized communities across the globe.

Who's it for?

This experience is ideal for individuals and groups, including people of African descent, people of color, and allies who are passionate about fostering economic empowerment, social justice, and solidarity. Participants will work with nonprofits and community organizations to explore the importance of entrepreneurship, education, and local economies in addressing systemic inequality. Through collaborative learning, participants will be equipped to bring innovative solutions to their own communities and promote healing and economic sustainability for marginalized populations worldwide.

How does it work?

The African Diaspora Solidarity Experience offers a culturally enriching program that guides participants through understanding systems of power, oppression, and culturally rooted healing. Participants will engage with the history and legacy of colonialism, learning about Ghana’s pre-colonial past, post-colonial revitalization, and successful economic models. Through internships with local nonprofits, participants will explore cooperative economics and gain firsthand knowledge of governance efforts aimed at uniting the African Diaspora and people of color globally. The experience also includes connecting with artists, intellectuals, and entrepreneurs who are driving collective liberation movements.

Why is this important?

This experience underscores the critical role of solidarity and economic sustainability in healing historical and ongoing harm. Participants will gain a sense of self and connection to a larger community, learning how to apply these lessons in their own contexts. Through education, collaboration, and shared economic practices, the program empowers participants—whether of African descent, people of color, or allies—to play an active role in healing and elevating their communities.
